He said, 'The biggest problem with the opposition is that what they do and what they say is incomprehensible to us. They are holding a long march against the government, yet in parliament, they are saying that this was not created by the government, and they are sincere. So why did we hold a long march, why did we cause suffering to people, why did we burn so much oil? What is the purpose of a long march?'
Syed Muhammad Faizul Karim made these remarks today, Thursday afternoon, in response to a journalist's question at a press conference held at Islami Andolan's central office in Purana Paltan, Dhaka. Islami Andolan organized this press conference under the title 'Sharia and Our Position on the Controversial Amendment to the Heba Law'.
Responding to journalists' questions at the press conference, Syed Muhammad Faizul Karim said that Islami Andolan Bangladesh has not yet announced any program that would put the government under pressure. Why not? Because they are giving the government some time. ... Solving the existing problems will take some time. For this reason, they are both exerting pressure for solutions and waiting for the government to take its time.
Syed Muhammad Faizul Karim said, 'We will keep the government under pressure with our statements and give them time. If the government fails within this period, then we will certainly announce such programs that the government will be forced to step down.'
The Naeb-e-Amir of Islami Andolan Bangladesh said that a long march against the government has taken place just six months after it took office. The situation regarding oil, gas, electricity, and commodity prices is very bad. The government has failed to alleviate traffic congestion. The government has failed to govern the country properly. Instead of focusing on these issues, the government is suddenly enacting anti-Sharia laws. The government should remember that an attack on the faith of Muslims has come.
