He once earned about two thousand taka a month by selling tea. With that meager income, he struggled to run his family with his wife and three sons. They often went without food. Now, good times have arrived. He is making jute products. After deducting all expenses, his net monthly income is 40 to 50 thousand taka. His products are being sold at Aarong.
Investigation reveals that Awal Bepari started making jute products 28 years ago, burdened by family poverty, hardship, and worries. Since then, his life has gradually transformed. Now, the jute wallets and handbags he makes are sold at Aarong. And with this income, prosperity has returned to his family. He has sent two of his sons abroad. Another son works at a private company in Dhaka. He has bought land and built a single-story house.
For 28 years, Awal Bepari has been making various types of jute products on a loom. These include two types of men's wallets and women's handbags. Currently, he produces about 1,500 products per month. Among these are one thousand wallets and five hundred handbags. He has been working with Aarong, one of the country's most popular brands, since he started his work.
