SICIP Grants Special Recognition for Industry-Based Research and Innovation

The Skill Development and Industrial Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP) has formally recognized and honored researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs for their contributions to industry-based research and innovation. This initiative aims to boost industrial capacity and foster innovation in Bangladesh.

On Monday (August 24), selected researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs were honored under the Bangladesh Industrial Research, Development, and Innovation Initiative, an initiative of the Skill Development and Industrial Competitiveness and Innovation Program, which operates under the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance. The event was organized at the Crystal Ballroom of Hotel InterContinental in the capital.

Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury was present as the chief guest at the event. He welcomed this initiative to recognize the success and significant contributions of selected researchers and entrepreneurs in innovation and development within Bangladesh's industrial sector.

The Finance Minister stated that such events will not only encourage the selected researchers and entrepreneurs but also inspire the broader community of researchers and innovators working on technological advancement nationwide. He also expressed hope that the role of research and innovation in the development of the industrial sector would be further strengthened.

Dr. Md. Khairuzzaman Majumder, Secretary of the Finance Division and National Program Director, was present as a special guest at the event. He stated that the Bangladesh Industrial Research, Development, and Innovation Initiative, being implemented with the assistance of the Asian Development Bank, has been formulated with the aim of increasing productivity, consolidating international competitiveness, and strengthening the foundation of skilled manpower by creating practical and industry-friendly solutions.
